#BABISHAI2020 POETRY FESTIVAL: (Postponed until futher notice)

Aren’t you ready for Poetry by the crater lake? Gear yourself! We’re going to Bunyoro. Our sixth poetry festival, a magnificent manifestation of creative verses across Uganda and Africa; a commemoration of poetry across the most hair-raising poetry; right in Kibale, at the crater lake.

DAY ONE Thursday 25 June, 2020

Departure from Kampala at 8:00am, for Kibale in Bunyoro (About 6 hours west of Kampala.) Bunyoro is a kingdom in Western Uganda. It was one of the most powerful kingdoms in Central and East Africa from the 13th century to the 19th century. It is ruled by the Omukama of Bunyoro. The current ruler is Solomon Iguru I, the 27th Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara.

Stop-over for lunch at midday.

Arrival in Kibale, at about 2:00pm, at one of the most snug lodges, with the most breathtaking and alluring view of the landscapes in Bunyoro., at the edge of Kibale Forest National Park.

Poetry and `Barbeque in Bunyoro, at 7:00pm.

DAY TWO Friday 26 June, 2020

Breakfast by 9:00am.

Poetry by the crater lake: 10:00am to midday

Lunch in Kibale

2:00pm to 6:00pm

Poetry with residents of Bunyoro, school visits, performances, poetry discussions, press interviews

6:30pm Return to lodge

7:00pm Barbeque and Poetry

 

DAY THREE Saturday 27 June, 2020

Return to Kampala.

The festival fee: Early registration is Five Hundred US Dollars ($500 each), payable by 15 April, 2020.

Late registration fee: Six hundred fifty US Dollars ($650).

This fee includes airport pick-ups from Entebbe International Airport to Kampala, accommodation in Kampala and Bunyoro, transport and meals.

If you do not require airport pick-up, or accommodation in Kampala, the fee is $350.

DAY FOUR Sunday 28 June, 2020

Morning: Kampala tour (optional)

Award-giving ceremony and Dinner from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, with a book launch

Venue: Spice Junction, Kisementi-Kololo.

Dinner cards are at Sixty-five thousand shillings (65,000/- ) each.
